This document contains a brief description of and references to the XML Schemas for the WRL XML syntax, as well as the relevant RuleML schemas for the XML syntax of the rules.

WRL XML Schemas

The XML syntax for WRL is originally given through a mapping in the WRL specification document. This document describes the XML Schemas for the XML syntax.

The XML syntax set consists of the following documents:

IRIs, data values and the like are specified according to wrl-identifiers.xsd
Conceptual syntax
The main schema for WRL/XML is wrl-xml-syntax.xsd.
Logical expression syntax
The logical expression syntax uses a number of schemas from RuleML:
naffolog.xsd enables the modeling of rules using Lloyd-Topor and includes negation-as-failure
frame_module.xsd enables the frame-style modeling (molecules) of WRL

The namespace of the WRL-specific elements is "http://www.wsmo.org/wsml/wrl-syntax#". The namespace of the RuleML elements in the logical expression syntax is "http://www.ruleml.org/0.89/xsd".

The work is funded by the European Commission under the projects DIP, Knowledge Web, InfraWebs, SEKT, SWWS, ASG and Esperonto; by Science Foundation Ireland under the DERI-Lion project; by the FIT-IT (Forschung, Innovation, Technologie - Informationstechnologie) under the projects RW² and TSC.

The editor would like to thank to all the members of the WSML working group for their advice and input into this document.
